Throwing out a question - I picked up a new SE Paul's Guitar. It actually sounds really nice but my question is, does anyone else have trouble seeing the birds? For some reason on mine, they come up darker than normal and I lose them when playing. Just interested in understanding if the old eyeballs are going or others have a similar issue.

Yes, I also have a problem seeing the birds on my Paul's Guitar. I attributed to my color blindness, because they are not the typical solid white. Unfortunately I'd never be able to use it for band practice or gigs, so have been thinking of selling it. Otherwise a fantastic guitar though.

From your playing point of view there should be dots on top of keyboard and they are white you should be able to see them easily. try them .

They are there but I never really notice them when playing. I'd have to train myself to look there instead of the fret markers, or, better yet, get good enough to solo without looking at the fretboard at all.

I love the guitars tone. So would it be crazy to figure out how to outline the farmers birds in a thin white line? If not crazy, any suggestions on what to use?

I would think doing something like that would hurt the resale value of the guitar. I'd ask a luthier what they recommend if it is that important to you, or, like a previous poster suggested, try to get used to looking at the dots on the side of the fretboard for your location, instead of the birds.

Yes PMRoy24, that's probably right. So I sent a note into PRS support asking the question about the birds visibility and also asking if there is a seamless upgrade path for a set of locking tuners. For some reason, even though this guitar is an SE, it doesn't act like one (for example, most SE's take 9's string sets and this one takes 10's, just like the Core). So the types of tuners that would be recommended for SE's, will not work on the SE Paul's Guitar without drilling/routing, etc.
