Received my first PRS guitar yesterday. S2 Singlecut Semi-Hollow in Dark Cherry burst. I had some concerns considering I bought it on Ebay from Sam Ash and they only had a generic photo (not the actual guitar). I received a beautiful maple top with lots of character. Also the change in neck profile and width coming from a strat but it honestly fit like a glove right away. Upgraded from a Mim strat which I had forever and boy am I happy. This thing not only sounds great but plays like a stick of warm butter. I feel that the sustain is definitely amplified by the chamber and when run through a compressor I can hold notes forever. Craftsmanship is on point and feels like I underpaid. Extremely happy to have started my PRS journey and can easily see how this leads to collecting addiction. Why just a second ago I was drooling over some guys HBII and I just got my guitar yesterday. I was hoping to post pics but I guess I can't pull them directly from my ipad but have to be put on the internet first. Also would have liked to have a signature. How long does that take to enable?

Congrats! Sounds like a great step up!

It takes 10 posts to get a signature. New forum rule because we were getting a lot of spam bots.

Sweet!! That is a nice looking axe, I just ordered an S2 custom 22 semi yesterday; which will be my first PRS - but I have to wait until May before it's ready! That dark cherry burst is stellar; I had a hard time deciding which finish I wanted (went with tri-tone sunburst) but *really* like the dark cherry. If I get more GAS and go for an S2 24, will most likely do the dark cherry.

Cheers, enjoy it! Great upgrade from the MIM strat. I'm on a Korean JTV59, which is nice - very similar build quality to the PRS SE Korean stuff (they are both built in the same factory) - but not *really* nice. Korean is good and all, but the S2's being made in Stevensville, Maryland - that makes it worth a lot more to me.

The photos make it difficult to decide; gotta go see them in person, which can be a challenge if these are being built to order. I've seen some photos of the dark cherry that look more deep and subdued, and others that make it appear alot more vivid and brighter / warmer red. How does yours look to you compared to these photos?
