Hi all. I've been looking for a single cut humbucking guitar lately. As a hobby/home recordist type of player these days, I didn't want to spend a ton. At a local music shop, I tried a used se245 soapbar on consignment and loved the feel of the wide fat neck, but they wanted nearly what I could pay Sweetwater for a new se245. I've never bought a guitar on line, but have been impressed with Sweetwater and their customer service over the years, so I've been waiting to see what black friday sales would bring. Forty percent off a se tremonti got me to commit, so by wednesday I should have my new PRS. Since the 245 with its light strings seemed a bit bendy, I think the 25 inch scale will be just right. Can't wait to try it out.
My first experience with PRS was in the early nineties at Gruhn guitar in Nashville. I played a top of the line dragon guitar that I thought was the most playable guitar I'd ever had in my hands. I figured it would always be out of my ballpark and it still is. Twenty some years later and the quality of guitar builds is incredible at all price points. So finally i'm adding a PRS to my collection alongside my regular fenders and G&L's.
So greetings and thanks to this forum where I've been lurking the past few months.
