Hey,

So after getting my guitar I got an included setup from the guitar store I bought it from.

After I got it back I was testing it playing acoustically and I noticed that the is this pinging sound when plucking fretted notes on the g string basically all along the string and I don't know what's causing it.

I took the guitar back to the guy who thought maybe it just needs some more bend in the neck so he did this changing the action of the guitar to make it higher but I'm still noticing that sound somewhat and am concerned this is preventing the string resonating properly.

He mentioned when he did the original setup that he adjusted the saddles on the guitar and I'm wondering now if this is what caused it perhaps?

Bit confused why it's not perfect after asking him to set it up as per PRS spec?

So one string is giving you issues " acoustically " and tech does a truss rod adjustment ( bend in the neck ??? ) after a " set up "
Hmmm ;/

1) did you play the guitar before the set up ?
2) did you change string gauge
3) guitar new or used ?
4 ) what guitar and bridge ?
Pictures would help or a video
Could be a bad string , a poorly cut or recut nut , loose or not seated bridge saddle.
It could be nothing , could be trem springs vibrating. Loose part on the guitar , The list goes on and on.

If you have a good relationship with this tech have them sit down with you and hear the issue you have , or find a new tech.

1)I played the guitar before the set up and didn't notice this before.
But there was quite a bit more of fret buzz before the set up. I told them to set it up as per PRS spec.
2) No guitar came with 10s and then all I did was choose different 10s those being the Ddarrio NYXL 10-46s
3) Brand new guitar
4) PRS Studio with a Trem Bridge.

He did mention as part of the set up he did something with the saddles but not sure what the exactly.

I took the guitar back to him today and he adjusted the saddles again he said and the relief of neck which raised the action but I can still kinda hear the sound.

Thinking of maybe taking the guitar somewhere else to do another setup and then do it as per PRS spec and hopefully the issue is gone next time.

They put new strings on when they did the setup they are brand new strings?
Did it make that noise before changing the strings? Sometimes strings are bad and sound wierd. If it’s not that, it’s something with the setup. A pinging sound from one string is usually a nut problem but that mainly only occurs when bending or tuning for example, not all the time.

I didn't notice it before the setup to be honest but I hadn't much time to test the guitar as I'm been busy with other things.

This is something I only notice when playing fretted notes not when strumming the string open.

Check to see if this "pinging" is coming from the trem spring/s when you play the G string.

A Trem spring on my new SECE24 resonates audibly when I fret C, 5th and 17th fret, on the G string. Currently rectified by using an eyeglass micro-fiber cloth inside each of the springs. A string change may also help, but I haven't done that yet.

Good luck

Yeah it's annoying me I know it shouldn't as when I'm playing plugged in the amp loud I won't hear it, but I can't crank the amp in my apartment so I keep hearing it when I'm playing.

The second setup fixed the pinging sound when playing the string open guess the nut depth wasnt set right on the first setup.

But yeah it's still making that rattling metallic sound when playing fretted notes acoustically and mainly just the G and D strings.

It's hard to tell where it's coming from. Would Trem spring rattle kinda sound the same as light fret buzz?? Cause this is like a high pitched sound doesn't sound thick

A not common, but possible issue could be the pickup's ground wire being a little loose/too much slack and resonating with those certain notes
