New PRS Studio arrived today has odd lines in finish is this normal?

Hey guys,

Unfortunately my Orange tiger PRS Studio was missing the COA and I just didn't feel good about paying full price for a guitar that was missing what should have come with it Soni exchanged it for one that hadn't had the box opened :

When I was looking at the finish I see lots of what look like scratches under the paint that I didn't notice on my other one. Almost looks like they missed painting some parts of it. The guy at the store says this is just wood grain coming through but I definitely didn't have this on the other one. Is this normal?

It might be mineral streaks in the maple. It's normal if it is.

It's kinda hard to see but they are straight vertical lines that appear brown. You can see one in the bottom left of the picture.

I'll see if I can take another picture closer up

Your grain looks like natural circular patterns. Mine for some reason is perfectly straight vertical lines. But I still love the guitar I just didn't notice this on my other 2 PRS guitars I had before.

But the colour is gorgeous.

This is a satin finish with darker colors and you can see some extra busy stuff...

Finish checking is when your clear coat starts to get tiny crack lines that usually spread over time.
