New PRS being released or not

Curiously, we haven't heard anything about any further developments since that "rapid unscheduled disassembly" on stage in a very public and embarrassing video.

If you watch Herman Li, he has discussed the PRS Breaking - and also said he was 'expected' to push it beyond it's limits' on tour to assess it and it's already been repaired by PRS.

Whether they do make a Herman Li Sig Model - even if just a Limited Run of 50 or 100 guitars - or not, I doubt that anyone will know about it until PRS or Herman Li announce something, We all know he has a 'Custom' built PRS guitar but doesn't mean he will become a PRS artist with a Signature model anytime soon.

Maybe they will, maybe they won't, but they certainly won't be releasing something until both sides are happy to do so. That could take 'years' of prototyping, tweaking and of course field testing on tours etc to see if they can be as 'reliable' as you expect from a PRS as well as work for Herman Li - feel right, sound right etc. Until they are both happy, they won't consider releasing a 'Signature' model, how long did we know about the MT100 amp?

Edit: Also Mark Tremonti had a Custom built PRS 'explorer-like' guitar that so far has never been released 'publicly'. He's had that a lot longer than Herman Li has had his unique PRS and he actually is a PRS Artist with Signature model(s)

Also note that Herman stated in a later interview that PRS examined the break, and the maple wood of the neck is what actually broke - not the glue. So he used force in just the right place to snap maple (which isn't exactly a fragile wood). Any wood will break if you smack it hard enough, and he did just that, apparently...

Which model is that? Looks like a Special. Pretty costly if it is..
I think it was answered tangentially already, but it was a one-off (o maybe two-off) special design for Herman Li. Different body shape, different (thinner) neck, probably very custom pickups. So a Private Stock of Private Stocks - no, you can't order one.

Yikes! It truly is a special guitar then. I would never do insane moves with a $13k+ guitar even if I got it for free.

I guess for Mr. Li, the guitar is a tool for his performance, and his performance includes some stage antics, so he's willing to "play around" with it more than you or me.

I remember when, back in the 80s, it was a huge thing to swing your guitar over your shoulder and have it loop around your body, so strap locks were a must. Many wanna-be rock stars had their axes fly away because they didn't know about the strap locks, or they failed...

Stage performance activities are often a fine line between stupid and clever...
