Hi,

Just got a a P22 from GC that had been hanging on the rack for a couple of years and the tuners seem really stiff on the treble side of the headstock. Is there some way to loosen them up? Lube them or something and if so with what? Also the nut seems to be installed a little bit off center and the G string is really binding in the nut slot. Is this something I could fix myself?

You could loosen the tuner button screws a bit, re-seat the nut, and file the G-string notch.... just work on the walls of the nut and not on the bottom. All depends on how handy/fearless you are.

Well that's true. As far as the tuners go I wasn't sure if just loosening the screw would work or if they needed to be lubed with something. They're the open gear type on the back. The nut just feels like it was installed incorrectly but that's hard to believe that it would've left the shop that way. I've had several PRS guitars and this is the first one I've bought that had anything at all wrong with it. But it's also the first one I've ever bought without playing it first.
