New owner and question

Got my first PRS a Custom SE 24-08. Mainly a Fender guy for 45 years thought it was time for a PRS. Installed a set if the SE Locking tuners, as I do on all my Fenders. No problem but don't like the black cap screws. Any options out there for silver or brass that will fit? I think they are M3- 05 but not sure can anyone confirm?

Great question, I'm not crazy about the black screws either. The ends of the screws aren't 'normal' - they're shaped a certain way to engage the string.

So I searched and found (link below.) An alternate solution is to call John Mann. He makes/modifies tuning machines for PRS guitars (and a bunch of other stuff) and would have a good idea about what's available.

The cap screws for the John Mayer tuners are what you’re after. I replaced the black ones with these. They’re available in the PRS accessories store.

Yes the Silver Sky ones. I still have the packet they came in. The thread is M3.5. As far as I can tell they’re identical to the black ones that come as standard. They fit straight in. Based on the fact that there’s only one item listed in the PRS store for black cap screws, I would imagine it’s one size fits all.

Yea I ordered the ones on the PRS accessory the the Mayer guitar.
