Ahhhh... got my fresh tusq installed and filed down on my new custom 24 today. Sooooooo much better than the factory and i like the few mm closer the e/e distance is. Its what the factory spec should have been imho. Still waiting on the brass trem block but so far this one is modding out nicely with the SD hot rodded humbuckers, tusq and locking tuners.

Out of the box i will say i was surprised at how far out of spec the set up was on the guitar when comparing it to what the factory specs were supposed to be. Had to adjust the neck relief, trem springs, trem knife screws and saddles right out of the gate.

Well, congrats on the new nut. The rest of the stuff is not the norm though
Seems to be the new norm on some of the qc as of late. I fondeled several new models and every one of them felt....off in some way or another compared to my older model custom which has only had a nut change in its life.

Beautiful family, congratulations.

I did the nut and pickups on my SE245.

I also switched to SE locking tuners, they have brass posts. And I’m lazy on string changes.

It’s a great guitar, so resonant and plays way above its “pay grade”.
