I came up with a quote that addresses all the intellectual ignorance we have seen most of two decades already, and that is, "For a society that demands civility, we tolerate so much incivility in the name of civility." Charlie, aka: Audie
I came about this observation from a quote about Countries/Civilizations throughout history. It is a quote from John Steinbeck, the "Of mice and Men" author; “We now face the danger, which in the past has been the most destructive to the humans: Success, plenty, comfort and ever-increasing leisure. No dynamic people has ever survived these dangers.” John Steinbeck
When I hear or see crap like this Uncle Fillip BS, I have to think about what Steinbeck was saying, hang my head, shake it, and run to my guitar and amp, amongst other positive things in my life to stay focused on what we as humankind are supposed to be. Demented humor can be construed as intellectual wit, but acting on it in any capacity, oh boy!
