I got into a little minimalist composing over the past few days and came up with a hybrid strings, piano, woodwind and synths piece that is very spare and uncluttered. It might be kind of interesting with the right picture.

Check it out:

Very nice! Possibly the most ethereal piece I have heard from Studio C-Tastic ;~)) I picture acrobats performing their moves in slow motion amidst a cloudscape environment!!

Dear @László, again a wonderful composition/arrangement. Minimalistic but strong.

It fits to an album by the CAN trio Sarah Neufeld/Richard Reed Parry/Rebecca Foon named 'First Sounds", which was sent to me for review. It turned out to be the most fascinating piece of music for me this year.

Definitely sounds like the intro or closing credits scene from a film. I really like it, kind of sets the mood to just about anything it would be paired with.

Very cool. I could see that paired up with some nature scenes … pics or video.

This is superb stuff, done to a very high standard, IMHO. I've liked what I've heard Richard Reed Perry's work for several years, but hadn't heard these collabs with Neufeld. Thanks for the links, most appreciated!

Thanks for the more than kind words, all! Glad it's relatable.

I felt good creating the new piece, and thought it might be interesting, but wasn't sure anyone else would like it.

It's just a merger of some of the things I learned doing the purely orchestral work, and some of the sonic moods I've created with electronic instruments over a long period.

I think it might be worth exploring this direction further.

After I created this, I thought, "Hmmm. I could have used an electric guitar to carry those few piano accent notes." I'm not going to reinvent this one, I'm happy with it, but plan to incorporate electric guitar in my next piece.

Beautiful, reminded me of something that would play over a Timelapse in a nature documentary or something starting from the cold barren winter land through watching the flower/s grow and bloom changing with the seasons only to end again as winter embraces

That would work!

I was thinking it might also work for a moody, contemplative film cue, for example, a character looking out to the ocean or other scenery following an important event in the film, etc.
