Well, it finally happened: New Miles Kennedy Day!

DISCLAIMER: I've had an NF53 for close to a year and I really dig it. I got the NF53 at the time because I wanted to go into the clean and gritty T space without the need for rock, and it worked splendidly for what I wanted. The more I played it the more I understood what I was missing about swamp ash and wanted to see if the MK filled that gap between the NF53 and all my maple-over-hog-humbuckers. Monahan's most excellent reviews convinced me to check out the MK because it worked. Everything he said is spot-on! See https://forums.prsguitars.com/threads/comparison-pt1-myles-kennedy-nf53-necks.60516/ and https://forums.prsguitars.com/threads/comparison-pt1-myles-kennedy-nf53-necks.60516/

I was close to getting an MK at the end of last year but I'm glad I waited because this one looks quite stunning, like a space beast in need of a light saber. I really dig its plainness, yet the stark contrast of pickguard, birds, and headstock really make this one pop.

This one weighs in at just under 7 lbs so heck yeah!

In my hands it feels great, and much to my pleasant surprise I am not repulsed by the satin neck which I usually despise.

The strings feel sharp and pointy, which is weird because they're supposed to be 10s. I'm stoked about the locking tuners, but the buttons seem small to me (old-school tele nod so I get it), and they twist really easily (less resistance than I'd prefer).

Acoustically it is very snappy but not without adequate sustain for swamp ash and its inherent mass and density.

To me, there is no doubt that this is a rock guitar when plugged in. WOW! I really love the power! It feels tight and a smidge dark but not without also being snappy and sparkly. I had a blast through my MT15, Archon 100, and JCM2000. It cleans up really nicely with plenty of jangle, and can't wait to give it more of a workout through the Dallas. Plus, it quacks like Daffy and Donald were in a cross-corporate shouting match.

As a whole, it is a very articulate guitar, just like all my previous Narrowfields have been, although it seems a tad more forgiving than my McNarrowfield and SANarrowfield. There is a slight chance that my playing is better but I highly doubt it.

Great guitar, just don't get me started on the lack of hard-shell case :-D

Behold it in all its glory. Thanks, Monahan!
