Hello,

I have just purchased a 2012 Custom 24 in red, i have be practicing on and off for years, still not good at playing, i will get there

Its an amazing guitar, however needs a little truss rod adjustment to stop string buzzing, other than that its great

Do you adjust your own truss rods?

Welcome aboard!! Sure man....don't worry about hurting your custom, Pauls design is awesome. You don't even have to loosen your strings! Was shown at the factory by the dude from private stock

Hey bud, welcome!

All guitars need a little TLC with the truss rod every once in a while.

Just go gentle. 1/8th of a turn at a time and let the neck settle for a while before taking any measurements and making more adjustments and you'll be golden.

Keep in mind that PRS guitars use a double-acting truss rod. Here's some information from the source:

I have noticed that the bridge is not setup correctly its noticeably lower down on the bass side, the neck relief looks ok, not sure if it was setup that well at the factory :-(

A bit hard to tell from the photos, but if the bridge is higher off the body on one side compared to the other it's been messed with post-factory. Don't touch the bridge screws, first report back if this is the case.

I watched the youtube video and the guy said we shouldn't touch the bridge, in fact i haven't touched anything, i am taking it back to the shop on Sunday.

I am not really happy getting one that has been played with, i am sure they don't come out of the factory like that, maybe i should talk to PRS directly?

It def wouldn't come from PRS like that so it's down to the dealer I'm afraid. You don't touch the screws because if they are moved while there is tension on the bridge, it ruins the knife edges. I don't want to alarm you but I would be concerned if it has been adjusted.

I would certainly be asking some questions and not take "it's fine" as an answer.

The dealer is your contact point, not PRS UK. Take it straight back and get them to sort it

I assume that the dealer can setup it up properly, i know they lowered the action on the bass side as it was high, i hope they didn't do it by lowering the bridge
