New McCarty594 Hollowbody II - TCI Pickups

I am awaiting a new McCarty 594 Hollowbody II Ten Top that I purchased from Sweetwater. Sweetwater is representing to me that this guitar has the TCI pickups but they are also representing to me that it has locking tuners, which are verified by a photo they sent me. The new 2020 models of the M594 HBII supposedly have Vintage Tuners, so how can this guitar have both TCI pickups and Locking Tuners? Inquiring minds want to know.

It depends on how the guitar was ordered. Some dealers are still ordering with Phase III. Also, those are rolling changes. Like, use all the in stock Phase III and then switch over.

The locking tuners. They’re called Phase III Locking Tuners. Another thing, the regular McCarty lists the Vintage style tuners as stock, but also says Phase III can be ordered by request, as well.

Gotcha. Thanks so much for your help and knowledge. Now I do remember the phase III from the marketing material. I am due to receive the guitar tomorrow. Would you know of any way to confirm that the pickups are, in fact, TCI?

Confirmed. As mentioned above, if the dealer order was placed early enough, they came with the locking tuners. My 2020 SC594 has the nitro, tci pups and the phase III’s.

So how would one know if the pickups are TCI? Any visible signs? Thanks for any info you might be able tp provide.

As of October, they were doing TCI on all 594s. You should be good. If you want too know 100%, an email to Customer Service would be in order.
