I Just bought my 3rd PRS. I no longer have my first two. This one is a Modern Eagle V wood library in a beautiful Indigo blue quilted maple 10 top. It almost looks black until you get some light on it. Beautiful guitar, but I was blown away when I sat down and really began to play and experiment with all the tone qualities. This thing could have been special ordered as a Private Stock for about 4 grand more but I chose to drive for two days to grab this one instead. The color is not readily available out there. I'm not a great player. I'm just an old bedroom player who loved buying electric guitars more than actually learning to play. But the last 4 years of retirement have me intent on knowing the fretboard and enough music theory to understand what I'm doing, even if I'm not a talented musician. Having said that, I've messed around with a lot of guitars, some very spendy. I had a $7500 Nic Huber once. I've had a Fender, Les Paul, a couple Hammer guitars, a Gretch White Falcon, a couple PRS guitars. Now I went out and spent some of my retirement savings on a PRS listed at $7255. I have no legitimate talent reason for such a nice musical instrument. However, this thing is the most incredible six string I've ever tinkered with. I came away from my first real time with the guitar completely blown away. Now I hate walking out of my little office/music room without picking it up and at least running through a little something. I recently bought an Ernie Ball Music Man Majesty, John Petrucci signature. I love the tone options with the coil splitters, active and passive pups, which is why I bought it. But the way PRS designed their coil splitters is so much better. When splitting the coils on the Ernie ball, the pups just sound like half a humbucker with a volume drop. The PRS split coils sound like single coils. Amazing guitar. Nobody besides me gets to touch this until I die. Anyway, I really wanted to share, and my older brother was my share person with music and since he passed, there's really no one in my life that's into learning to play. I had to tell someone. Don't hold it against me. I'd love to post pictures on here but the only option seems to be posting a URL and I have the pics on my computer. Maybe I have to be on here longer. It's quite a vision, imo.
