I am looking at the S2 Singlecut and the S2 Custom 24 or 22.........

I have been waiting to buy a PRS forever, so I am fired up.......

Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks!

I think you should pick one you like and buy it. Simple, huh? ;)

Seriously, go with your gut. You can't screw this up, they're all good.

The only PRS guitars is my area are the high end PRS or the SE models...So,it's not that simple unfortunately.....

Other than that I would agree with you:)

Depends on what you like!

One of the biggest differences to me is the position of the neck pickup on a 24 vs 22 fret guitar. On a 24 fretter, the neck pickup is a little closer to the bridge, and therefore, a little brighter and twangier. Personally, I prefer the warmth of the 22 fret axes. And the PRS singlecuts are to die for!

But again, it depends on you. What kind of music do you like to play?

You are right...So, I am searching for where those models are that I can make that trip....:)

Seriously, what fun to pick a model out the old-school way, by playing the actual guitars you're considering, and having the one you're going to buy in your hands first!

The way it used to be, but kind of a novelty these days, you know?

Buying blind on even an experienced player's advice, you're still getting a pig in a poke because it's a matter of taste and feel, not a math equation that you can parse.

I play Blues, from Clapton style to Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top.......From what I have read, the singlecut does sound sweet....

Thanks for your input...Much appreciated.

I understand you .......A few years ago my lead man and I were in a store and he was playing two guitars, both the very same model and year and one sounded terrible while the other sounded sweet........

I prefer the look of the SC, but my core Cu24 is as perfect a guitar as I have ever seen so I can't knock the Cu24. And, I understand the pup location thing, but my Cu24 sounds warmer than a number of my 22 freters so I can't say it is any issue. That Vintage pup may be the reason. Play them and pick!

Same here... and an S2 singlecut is HIGH on my list!

I watched some YouTube and from what I heard.....I was in love immediately on the spot.....Had 'that' sound...Know what I mean:)??

They are hard to find in stores however, So, I may just have to order it online.......

I haven't seen anywhere to where someone was disappointed going the route....:iamconfused::iamconfused:

I think a couple people on the forum here have picked them up so far... but yeah, they are hard to find. They just came out at the start of the year so hopefully places will start to stock more of them soon!

Hope so......I had the pleasure of meeting Paul when he came to the Sacramento Ca GC..I was talking to him about the sounds I was looking for so he picked up this guitar "PRS Studio with Pattern Thin Neck Electric Guitar
(Black Gold Wraparound) (#H71836) then told me to take a seat by him as he cranked up his PRS amp and blasted a few Clapton, ZZ Top and Gary Moore type licks....

Beautiful guitar but a bit out of reach for my pocket book
......

The S2s are great. Just rob and I were chatting with a dealer yesterday who said they are flying out of the stores. The reason they don't seem to in a lot of stores is because they are selling as fast as they get them in. This is really good news. I wasn't sure how well they were selling.

They are great guitars, and you can't go wrong on your choice. Don't rule out the Mira and Starla, either. Very cool.

One good thing I've found over the years is that with PRS, you're not going to find a situation where one guitar is great and the other is a dog. There's a remarkable consistency in that they're all great, and it becomes a matter of certain ones having "magic." But as I said, you can't really go wrong.

I buy on the web and place special orders often with PRS, and I've never been disappointed. That's pretty amazing!

I like Mira as well, couldn't go wrong with either one of them from where I stand.

I ran quickly into a GC on my way to work thinking that I would be best served to order it from them than an online company. I will be able to order a PRS S2 single cut for sure in about a week...

The problem is do I get the......Antique White, Grey Black, or Blue Crab Smokeburst?????????????

Blue Crab is where I am leaning towards:)

LSchefman, I agree, that is one reasons that I have a real desire (outside of the great sounds) is the quality that is a PRS guitar...

I DID it..!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes I did.....Went to GC and ordered that bad boy!

S2 Single Cut Blue Crab Smokeburst!!!!!!!!!

Should be burning in my hands in a few days!!!!!!!

Wow.......
