Hello everyone, first post here. About a week ago I purchased my first PRS and figured I’d come join the community!

I’m not gonna lie, while I obviously knew about PRS guitars, I’d never really gotten to play one or gone down the rabbit hole looking at them. Then a few weeks ago I came across a 2021 Trampas green CE 24 (not the SE CE). I was intrigued by a bolt on neck with Humbuckers as well as the wood choices and beauty of it. It was like new and looked basically unplayed. The guy was trying to get $1500 for it which was a bit much for me to buy on a whim, but after some compliments and back and forth, crying etc i was able to buy it for $1,000.

I’ve been playing it all week and to me it seems fantastic. It’s such an interesting spot that it seems like it occupies. To me It seems sort of like a Strat and a Gibson Les Paul had a baby.

So did I do ok buying it for $1k? Is my Strat/Les Paul what other people get from it too or am I crazy?

Welcome aboard , could you imagine anything else with the same quality at that price?
I’ve never seen anything even close to this quality at that price which is why I sort of took a flier on it. Seems crazy cheap to me. I guess when I was asking “how did I do” it’s more, “is this really what a used PRS CE goes for with all this or did I steal it?!?!”

My guess is the person you bought it from expected to get more for it. Used prices are all over the place. You got a good deal, but I wouldn’t say you stole it. You won’t lose anything if you decide to pass it on. You probably won’t find another one for that price when you regret letting it go.

I would post pics but I have literally no idea how to do that. 🤷‍♂️ (As you can see I did figure out emojis while clicking around though, lol)
First of all, you will need I think 5 messages on the forum before you are allowed to post pix. Then, you will need to "host" the pictures somewhere else and put a link in here to display them. I know it is not what many people are used to, but this is what PRS has decided to avoid legal tangles. There are several tutorials on posting pix on this forum, and all of them that I am aware of are in links at this post ( https://forums.prsguitars.com/threads/sharing-pictures-on-prs-forum.47818/ ) along with my own tutorials on this topic. If you continue to have any issues, PM me and I will walk you through any troubles you are having ;~))

You got a great deal. My first PRS was also a CE 24 that I purchased new in April. It’s a very versatile model and really easy to play with great tone. I just bought my 2nd PRS (McCarty 594) a couple weeks ago … I’m betting this won’t be your last PRS.

Did I figure out pics? Can you guys see these now?

I gotta be honest it seemed like a pain to upload pics and wasn’t probably going to spend the time to figure it out until Gush said it was probably a Hello Kitty Wankacaster 🤣

Not the best pics I know. I spent all my energy figuring out how to upload them then just snapped a few randoms shots to try it.

Trampas green probably isn’t a color for everyone but I love it and think it’s super cool and different! When I asked my wife if she liked it too she said “Hell yeah, I love Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” 🤣 (She does actually like it, sick burns are just our love language.)

Welp......I must confess........I don't post pics...lol.....but I'm old and crotchety so I get a pass!!!

Congrats and welcome! As you’ve probably gathered, these things multiply, so be prepared. But before you start making proactive calls to divorce lawyers, here’s a glimmer of hope. I actually have FEWER electric guitars than I did when I got my first PRS. Of course, now they are ALL PRSi, but I also don’t need many more! :D
