New Guitar - Help Needed - Challenge for the Forum!

Dear All,

I previously posted my first thread, following my firs PRS purchase. I was asked to post pics and hopefully I have now worked out how.

Now, here's the challenge - I name a lot of my guitars, but I'm struggling to think of a name for this one. I have a Suhr with an ebony fingerboard (no position markers) that is called 'Stevie' (Stevie Wonder, Ebony and Ivory) and a Collings called 'Rocky' (it has a 'Tiger's Eye finish - Eye of the Tiger, Rocky theme tune). Sad, I know!!

Looking for suggestions for names for this beauty; hopefully a bit of fun. I've ruled out 'Paul' already!!

The guitar is beautiful, but since that would make a lame name, how about "Blackjack". The sum of your PS # is 21.

Beautiful...congratulations. I think I missed the first thread. What are the specs (woods, color, pickups etc) maybe that will provide us with some additional inspiration...

Thanks - I can't believe how welcoming you fine people are!

The specs are the European PS ones - EU maple top, African ribbon mahogany back and neck, curly maple binding, Madagascan rosewood board with mammoth ivory birds. Oh and 57/08 pick-ups.

Man, that is a STUNNER!!

That gorgeous top puts me in mind of somrthing with fire... like a wall of fire.. Or embers... Or something. I'd go with something fire-themed... Firebreather? Firestarter? Ocean fire (du to the waes in the flame)? Maybe just flame? I don't know

Congrats! Awesome looking guitar.

I've never named one so I wouldn't know what to suggest, but for using Photobucket to host pics there is a section titled "Share Links" to the right of your image. If you click on the "Direct" button (or select the text in the box next to it) then come back to compose your post and click on the insert image button (above the text area to the left of the film strip looking button) and paste the link, then click ok, the image should appear in the thread.

...or, even easier, two down from the direct button labelled 'IMG', click in the box to the right, it should say 'copied', then paste it over here. (You can even go back and edit your first post until you get it right.)

The only guitar I've ever successfully named (though the name popped into my head and made me giggle like a schoolgirl the minute I first played it): The Hammer Of The Gods.



Of course the reference is corny, but it's fun!

Don't know if it would help any, but my Paul's has a solid mahogany body and an IRW/BRW neck. So I named it "Rosie".

Guys, just to close out this thread. Firstly, thanks for all your help.

I have a name....

When I picked up the guitar, for some reason it was in a black case. The local PRS rep tracked down the correct Paisley case and I've just swapped them over today. When my youngest son saw the inside of the Paisley case he stated, 'wow, it's furry like a bear'. So there you have it, the guitar is now named 'The Bear', which I think actually suits it rather well!
