hey guys I recently purchased a new custom 24 though Sweetwater / PRS. I noticed the other day that the back of the guitar where my belt was rubbing caused scratches (this is to be expected). But the strange thing is the paint started bubbling. I have never had this happen on any of my guitars. Scratches are to be expected but the paint bubbling worries me. Don't want it to start coming off. any ideas on the best way to fix this or stop it from getting worse. I bought a pad to prevent further belt rash.

shame on me for the belt scratches. But i don't think its normal for the finish to do this right?

I doubt it's normal. PRS is superb about taking care of finish issues for their customers, email customer service.

There might be something going on with finish at PRS. I had to send in my new S2 Singlecut ( which has a very nice fiddleback top) for finish lift on the neck, treble side, 11th fret- maybe an inch long and 1/4 inch wide- not just cloudy, but lifted. My first PRS- and, now, I am waiting about a week for an email back on evaluation and plan. That is a little disappointing considering the reputation I thought I was buying into. (However, by Gibson standards, I wouldn't even check for response for 3 more weeks at best- coming from LP world and a very part-time builder). Not angry about finish issue- it happens. Now I just want them to back up their good name. It is a very nice guitar- a true workingmans' bargain. I'm retired (sadly, suddenly) on SS and a partial Iowa state pension. So, $1400 was a big deal to me. While I am a tiny low-desirability (e.g. a carp) fish in your Rainbow Trout PRS river, I paid good money to be hooked-and was happy to be in the boat, but now my gills are failing-- I really miss that guitar.
