So I have long wanted to do a PRS over in my own twisted vision so I just scored an old beater CE. The good news is it has a killer maple/maple wide thin neck and a one piece trem. The bad news, or good news since I was able to get it priced right, is that it was beat up and had a really horrible set up. Finish was dented and dinged and the trem was decked tight to the body but the frets were clean. NO worries as the first thing I did even before plugging it in was this.....

Then I stripped back the finish which was made much easier by chemical strippers.........

So now I have a three piece alder body in pretty good condition that is perfect for my needs. From here on out the rest is a secret but believe me when I say you will NOT recognize it when I am finished with it......final and build pics to follow ASAP.......

Did you consider using a heat gun to remove the finish? I have an SE I'm about to embark on a similar project with...

Looking forward to seeing the results, but please post pictures as you go along too!
