New Amp -OR- Midpriced modelers -OR- Is anyone here (still) playing a Tonex?

I should be fine then. Plus I can use the pedals I have if I want.
Effects Are Awesome And The Addition Of Pedals Isn't An Issue. Once You Learn To Navigate The Unit A Bit (Which Is Pretty Simple) I don't find Tweaking Of Anything To Be Anymore Difficult On The Kemper Then My Amps And Pedals.

I Will Add This Tidbit Just In Case You May Not Know...Just Like On Amps And Pedals, You Will Ge The Best Results Tweaking Things And Dialing Everything In At The Volume Level You Will Be Playing At.

I learned early to setup different rigs/profiles into Performances and normalize the volumes for being gig volume ready.
If you use profiles from a single supplier, there is less of that to do, but if you want to have multiple suppliers into one Performance you want to pay attention to the levels.
Easy to do.
The adventure is fun...

Darn it. I’ve found a stage pretty local to me on the ‘verb. Seriously considering it. Part of me wants a head and foot controller. The heads can be found at a good deal, but the foot controller bumps the price above a stage, and more pieces. How are the included from Kemper profiles? Good enough to keep me out of trouble for a while? Probably a deluxe reverb, a plexi and a modded plexi / jcm800 will keep me out of trouble for some time.

The included profiles are very nice. There are also many thousands of free user uploads. Numerous commercial vendors have freebies.

Having gone through thinking about a Kemper... The Stage is much newer hardware, that boots up faster and has WiFi built in. You don't have a tablet, right? So the WiFi isn't so much of a thing.

I'd think about your furniture and how you're going to use it. For me, I'd end up wanting a Stage connected through USB to the iMac I keep on a rolling stand near where I play. I don't have a great spot where I could put the head and easily adjust it, so I'd end up doing a lot through Rig Manager on the computer. With that being the case, the Stage would be the better choice for me.

The "Factory" Profiles Are Great IMO And Certainly Would Be Sufficient In Keeping You Out Of Trouble. I Know Some People Who Have Never Purchased Any Profiles And Only Used The Factory Included Profiles And They Have Been Fine. There Is Plenty To Cover The Needs/Wants You Made Mention Of From The Factory. :)

Edit: Additionally, The Kemper Forum Is A Great Place To Go To And Learn Things. There Is A Thread Where Many Of The "Favorite" Profiles For "Such And Such" Amps/Tones Are Listed With Links To That Free Profile If You Wanted To Go Down That Path. :)

I have only purchased profiles of one amp from one vendor. I have profiled the amp that I have been gigging for a good number of years now. The profiles of those two amps has been all I have needed in the 3 years I have owned my Kemper Stage. There are plenty of good profiles in the Kemper. It is easy to build a new rig that sounds great using what comes in the Kemper firmware.

Very True! I Also Feel People "Think" They Need To Have 98766789 Different Profiles Loaded When In Reality Only A Few Are Truly Needed.

Quick question on the WiFi - does it require that there be WiFi service such as a router working in the area, or does it present as a WiFi source that one connects their device to?

Otherwise, agreed with the above. My pedalboard currently sits on a music stand at waist level. A stage could go there or on the floor. A head would work fine “later” when I move my stuff to the corner of the spare bedroom, but not right now.

I won’t need many profiles at least to start. I’ll never need 10’s or 100’s or 1000’s. It’s good to know, and not surprising to know that the included profiles will suffice. Kinda like amps. Just ‘cause there are hundreds of available amps doesn’t mean we need to buy all of them. Well, except maybe @Bogner , but I suspect that is more of a quest.

As always, thanks all.

Wifi can be used in two ways...
The Stage can be a "Hotspot" that you directly access with a phone/tablet, or it can join your existing Wifi network.

What Can I Say? I Love A Good Amp. What I Own Compared To What Is Available Out There Is A Very Small Number. :)

Soon to be a Kemper stage owner. I think he is including every profile ever made along with it. A few details tonight and then the deal is done. It's not the local one, but nearly the same price, plus every profile. Every. Single. One. The massive amount of profiles are not necessarily a bonus - more options is not always good!

Awesome! I hope you find it as useful as I have.

Yeah, that’s awesome! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts. Really like mine. Had a toaster, and sold it for some silly reason. Bought the Stage when it came out.

So my father in law brought us a bunch of bananas 'cause no single person can eat a whole Costco bunch. He also brought a 40 year old Monterey D26 classical guitar. It's made in Korea by Kaman. It seems pretty cool. Strings were hammered, but only about a half step flat, and decently close to in tune, and in fine shape, near as I can tell. Got a set of strings, now I just need to figure out how to do the Fishermans knot at the bridge and whatever is done at the pegs. The fretboard is completely flat. Kinda cool all in all.

Fun Guitars To Play! There Are Videos Explaining How To String Them Which Is Probably Easier Than Me Trying To Type It Out And Have It Make Sense With Not Visual. :)
