New Amp -OR- Midpriced modelers -OR- Is anyone here (still) playing a Tonex?

I loved my Headrush Gigboard when I had it! I paired it with the Headrush FRFR cabs and they were awesome! I didn't have to try others. However, as I don't gig anymore, the 112 was too boomy for me at home. I tried out the 108, and it was just right for my use at home.

Alto... I don't think they were meant to be for modelers, no matter what they say about it. I opted to go for getting the one that was meant for rather than saving a few bucks.

However, if budget allows, I would go for the higher tier ones.
I've read Alto is the manufacturer of the Headrush...
You say, "no matter what they say about it"...
What is the difference between a modeler specific speaker and PA speaker if both are FRFR?
I'm not trying to be confrontational; just trying to learn.

That question was brought up before. The Headrush and Alto are under the same parent company. From what I have read, if I recall it right, although they both look similar, it's something about the circuit, speakers, etc.

What's up with the inputs?

They’re the main difference between the Alto and Headrush units. Different panel orientation, with one being slated towards vertical standing and the other a wedge. The Alto has a USB connection as an input. Same guts. Maybe some different firmware? InMusic would know, but it’s not in their interest to disclose that. I can guess why.

I currently use a Kemper stage and relatively easy to dial in a good tone - I used a Helix a few years ago and really did not get on with that, glad I went the Kemper route. before that I was Digitech GSP2101 user - to get a decent sound of that you needed a degree in computer programming lol - I had much more time back then but these days I just want to spend more time playing rather than twiddling. I am in a covers band and the Kemper has been a big part of my sound from cleans to crunch to metal and everything in between.
