New Amp -OR- Midpriced modelers -OR- Is anyone here (still) playing a Tonex?

One other thing you may try for your temporary layout is, but some kind of riser to separate the PS-2 from the amp sitting on top of it. For example four 2x2x2 inch blocks. Here is a crude image mock to give you a visual of what I am talking about:

Or put a shelf like piece of wood on top of the amp so that the PS-2 can be supported up there. You may have to cut a center slot in the wood so it can fit around the handle on top of the amp (if it has one)!

I Am Still Unsure Why The PS-2 Doesn't Fit On Top Of The Amp?
top of the amp is 7” deep. PS-2 foot spacing is 7.5”, plus the amp handle is too tall. I could probably use a couple pieces of 2”x2” like @Moondog Wily shows up there. It would be an odd stack, as the PS-2 is 9” front to back and the top of the amp is a little over 7”. The mkv25 combo is tiny.

Ahh...I Would Try That!

This Also Confirms My Love For Big Amps And 4x12 Cabs. ;)

Further on the Holeyboard:
I’m pretty sure I’ll go with duo-loc next time. The zip ties are to fiddly, they leave sharp knobby heads all over the underside and they constrain pedal positioning too much. My new Voodoo Pedal Power 3 didn’t fit well underneath, so the board ended up bigger than my old one.

Plus sides? The two tiered layout is nice, the “Wah Plank” is nice, it’s very configurable, it’s light and rigid. I think duo loc instead of zip ties will solve a few of my issues. All in all though, it’s pretty decent and a nice layout.

So… What’s a good used price for an essentially mint/excellent condition Mesa TC-100? There’s one or two locally. I think they might be the same one. Anyway, I probably won’t, but I *could*. Any decent feel for it, let me know. It seems like CA has a 10% nice weather, earthquakes and wildfires premium, so I’ll add that on top unless you tell me you are in CA. The ‘verb sol listings seem to varry from $1450 to $2200. Local is about $1800. Seem reasonable?

I folded like a cheap tent. NAD thread with pics to follow.

So... I want to try out the unbalanced line out - the one without the Cab Clone. The easiest would be an interface into my laptop with an IR loader of some sort in Garage band or I could install Logic. I don't really want to use my laptop though, just kind of a pain in the rear in my set up. I could also use an iPad, but I don't know what the appropriate or "Best" app for IR loading would be? Can I just use a Lightning to USB-B or C as needed to hook up the iPad? Would I just be better using a 2notes Opus or Captor M+, or Boss IR-2 or ??? instead of the iPad? Would latency be best minimized by any of the particular options? Is there a better option? Oh, as to why would I want to do this? Because... sometimes I like using my powered monitors when playing quietly. It can work well in my set up. I've already tried the Cab Clone balanced out, I just want to try the line out also.

EDIT - Any way to do this with the Kemper Stage, so I don't have to buy anything? Line into the Kemper, IR block only, monitor or main out to mixer to monitors?

I'm just kind of looking for some ideas on where to start experimenting. Thanks all!

Just bought a line 6 Pod Go recently. What a piece of kit. Particularly for recording.

Almost full Helix modelling - Marshall stacks or twanging Twins and no family or neighbours hammering in the door.

Got a gig coming up in August and can’t wait to try it cranked with my SE Standard.

Just picked up the new Headrush Prime Flex...
Talk to me about about powered FRFR speakers. On the low-end, I'm considering the Headrush or Alto 12". On the high-end, I'm considering the QSC 12.2 or Line 6 Powercab 212 Plus.

I used the QSC CP8 with my Kemper and an AA12. Both sounded great through it. I’d still have it but I went with a Kemper Powered Kabinet for the Kemper Stage.

AA12 sounds badass...
Like the Atchisson shotgun..
Who makes it?

My bad. Not the badass gun. Modeler made by Atomic Amplifier.

But the AA-12 shotgun looks awesome.

Atomic is kind of out of business with the modeler world I think?

My first modern modeller was an AA3. Those sounded great, but were quickly surpassed by helix and the newer axe fx units, at least in marketing and sales. They are a pain to program and operate with the little screens If only they could have kept up with the workflow paces they would have been a nice contender.

Lately I am playing more and more with a hybrid amp/modelling tech set up. Amp with loadbox and IRs tot FOH and fx from a helix. Bought a tonex pedal to capture the amp, but to my ears I have never sounded better as I do now. Better then with just the Helix and even better than my trusty Kemper (and profiles of my amp).

They certainly aren’t doing anything new, that I know of. The AA12 was pretty good. I liked several of the presets, and it was desktop PC editable.

I loved my Headrush Gigboard when I had it! I paired it with the Headrush FRFR cabs and they were awesome! I didn't have to try others. However, as I don't gig anymore, the 112 was too boomy for me at home. I tried out the 108, and it was just right for my use at home.

Alto... I don't think they were meant to be for modelers, no matter what they say about it. I opted to go for getting the one that was meant for rather than saving a few bucks.

However, if budget allows, I would go for the higher tier ones.
