So I got my SC 594 a few days ago now. It's a 08/2023 build.
I love it. I totally get the "Tele on steroïds" idea now, I did an A/B with my Tele and the 594 and yes, it's near but well...more.

Anyway, I am trying to get as much documentation on the model as I can (like I always do, while they are still easily available and for future use). So I got on the SC 594 wiring page on PRS website.
I found out that 2024 models now have a different wiring to older models. Which I didn't know before.
Here is the link to the 2 versions as PDF downloads : https://support.prsguitars.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408357064219-McCarty-Singlecut-594-Wiring-Diagram

The new 2024 wiring is now common with the S2 SC 594 too as it seems.

Is any of you, smarter than I am with this kind of stuff, able to explain what the differences are between the pre 2024 and the new 2024 wiring ?
I am just curious to know. Evolutionnaty updates in PRS guitars are always interesting to understand and this one I do not.

Thanks

The only difference is using the 5 wire TCI 58/15LT pickups vs the 3 conductor that theyve used for a long time. It seems almost all their pickups are switching to being 5 conductor wiring going forward.

But... the TCI thing is said to be a whole including pickups AND wiring, right ? And the 594 got the TCI upgrade before 2024 too so they had TCI with 3 conductors before ?
Sorry if this is a silly question to ask but I don't understand this.

nah the naming convention just gets really confusing. Ignore the naming, the update was just going 3 conductor to 5 conductor wiring i believe.

Same pickup, extra wires for flexibilty. Most likely because they put the 58/15 into the standard 22 and its a 5 way so you need a couple extra wires to do some of the positions.

So that means newer 58/15 LTs have 5 conductors to be used in any type of PRS wiring while the 3 conductors don't allow that.
Thus the new 594 wiring to match these new pickup specs ?

Thanks making this non trivial thing kinda understandable for a dude like me. :)

not trying to muddy the waters but you still can wire the 3 conductor to a 5 way as the custom 24 has been a 5 way for years. The extra wires is just convenient and im only guessing why they did it.

Right, probably a way to standardize things across models though, taking into account the S2 getting US pickups now too.
My guess this time.
