I have a 1996 PRS C24 with a 5-way rotary. I am considering swapping the HFS/VB for new 57/08.

I've read a few posts that are a few years old that the 57/08s don't wire correctly with the 5-way rotary, that I'd need to switch it to a 3-way. Is that still the case or do current 57/08 work with the 5-way rotary?

Thanks!

Depends on the 5708. Theres so many variations over the years with different wiring. And I don't know whats beeing sold from the store these days. The last accessory store set I bought would have worked with rotary and the TCI ones in my drawer will.

These are the latest versions. I just noticed it says "Compatible with: 3-way, 3-way push/pull, or 5-way pickup selectors" but just wanted to confirm that's still an easy install.

Find out the wires to confirm but I'd lean towards yes.

For rotary switch, wires need to be black red white and one magnet needs flipped.

If you don't flip the magnet then pickups will be out of phase.

You CAN reverse hot and ground to get polarity correct.

The circuit board rotary says right on it what wires go where. Pretty simple. The only thing is TCI pickups have more wires or at least different color wires so it would probably still work but may have to do some detective work.

Prs has wire diagrams under support tab that can help figure it out too.

Ok cool, thanks, appreciate it. I'll look up the diagrams since I imagine I can't be the first to try.

I'm not doing the wiring myself so wanted to how feasible it is from maybe someone who had done it before. Otherwise I'd return the pickups and get my money back and just keep the stock pickups.
