Howdy. I have owned a Whale Blue SE Custom 22 in the past, but don't currently own a PRS.

However, that could change tomorrow. I have a chance to buy a PRS SE Tremonti in what appears to be Vintage Sunburst. It has a tremolo bridge.

I have seen reviews that said it had a chunky neck, but the specs say it has a wide-thin. Also, I read that the body is no longer mahogany with a maple cap, but is now maple on maple. Any extra info that can be provided would be helpful.

It will have a Wide Thin neck, not chunky, but not super thin either. It will be smaller than the neck was on your Custom. There are 2 versions of the SE Tremonti. The SE Tremonti will have a mahogany body with a maple cap. The SE Tremonti Standard will have an all mahogany body. No PRS is maple on maple.

I say, grab it!

It still won't let me post a link. It was from hiendguitar dot com. Here's where they say in two places that it has a maple body. Lower on the page though, in Tech Specs, I now see it says it has mahogany.

  • SE 245 pickups deliver the open, shapable tone that PRS guitars are known for
  • Custom PRS gig bag included

Get you hands on this all-maple PRS SE Mark Tremonti Custom guitar!

Yeah, I think that dealer may have it wrong. Maple they're confusing the maple top, and maple veneer, thinking that the maple top is the body. Actually, it would be a mahogany body, with a maple top, and a maple veneer on top of that.

Thanks -- that helps.

Don’t confuse the players in the videos with the pickups. The body will be mahogany with a maple cap and maple veneer. I have a 2013 that I bought in 2014. It has literally a perfect wide/thin neck, but it is heavy. I got a thickly padded strap and that takes care of the weight. The trem goes way up, and I love it for that, as I like to bend notes. They are very, very nice guitars. I think the singlecuts are the most underrated of the SE’s. Mine was made by World Music in Korea. And I use the guitar for clean rhythm and to play the blues. Remember, it’s no big deal to change the pickups, but you can’t change the neck. Buy it.

Thanks. While I was dragging my feet, it sold. That's okay, though. I guess if I had really wanted it I'd have acted sooner.
