So my new to me S2 Standard 22 has a filthy fretboard to the point where my fingers are black after playing it lol...
1) what do you guys suggest to clean with snd how...
2)when I remove all the strings is it OK for the bridge to sit flat with all the spring tension against the screws or do I need to remove to springs as well while cleaning??
Thx and any other tips appreciated...BTW I set it up with 9s and this is my 3rd 22 and plays and sounds amazing as expected....lol

1. You can scrape it with something like a drivers license or credit card if there is gunk built up on the fingerboard. Then, use naptha to clean the board and oil with mineral oil if it is dry after the naptha. Gorgomyte works well, too, but I think it has been sold out everywhere for a while now.

2. It’s fine to leave the springs attached unless you need to remove the bridge.

I put something under the back of the bridge, just to keep it from resting on the finish. Folded up business card wrapped in blue painters tape. As for cleaning the fretboard, I use Gorgomyte clothes.
