Hi,

This is my first post. I own a PRS SE, but actually I'm a not a real PRS owner,( until I'll buy a USA model ;-) )

I'm in touch with a guy selling a PRS custom, I haven't try it yet, I only get some pictures.

This guitar seems to be legit, but I found the serial number weird.

Opinions ?

Many thanks in advance for your precious knowledge !

Perhaps this is naïveté on my part, but are there really fakes of this quality level? Who other than an established factory could profitably create such an item?

Also, I think you're a PRS owner already. Don't let an internet forum gatekeep PRS ownership. Still, get the American one though...!

Nice, Legit Custom 24. One piece quilt top too which I do not know why it isn't a "10"...
Color is called Tortoise Shell.

Those really aren't that bad for made in China. For $200 I might take a flyer on one of these!

-k

I wouldn't, and not simply because it's a shady deal.... Google YouTube and you'll see a number of vids reviewing (fairly positively) these counterfeits. So there's that.

But the real issue is, simply because they're showing you a picture of a nice, finished guitar doesn't necessarily mean that that's the guitar you will receive, and there's little recourse after the fact. Do a little research before sending your CC# overseas.

If I wanted to get a decent guitar for ~$200, I think it would be more fun to go on a hunt. Load up the car with some good tunes. Hit every shop you can reach. Have a little lunch at some local diners. Play a bunch of guitars. That's fun, and at the end you'll have some great stories, and that's what's it's all about n'est ce pas?

Dang, now I kinda want to go on a guitar safari. That sounds like a great way to kill a day.

Woof....those are blatantly obvious. I'd feel better about getting hepatitis from a Guitar Center used guitar ;)

Sure. Blatantly obvious to your typical PRS Forumite. You're not their target market by a long stretch.,

Yeah, if the price is good, jump on it! That one piece top is bad a$$!

It doesn't matter what you own (or don't own), you are welcome here! Come talk guitars, amps, and music!
