Hello all,

I have a guitar that I really like, but the sound really isn't doing it for me. It currently has a set of Artist pickups. Compared to my other guitars, this one sounds a little anemic in the bridge position...sort of like a Strat vs. the humbucker/ stoptail guitar she is. I'm looking for a thicker sound. The music I tend to play most is Mayall-era Clapton, Van Halen, Rush, Zeppelin, etc...

I do have a few extra PRS bridge pickups lying around. Which one do you all think I should try? I don't have tons of spare time, so I'd like to keep pickup swapping to a minimum. Choices are an uncovered 59/09, a Chainsaw, or a Deep Dish II. What would you try? Impressions of each?

Thanks,
Brad

I don't have any experience with the 59/09 or the Chainsaw, but the Deep Dish II is an AWESOME choice.
I wish PRS still made them. :(

the only p-up im familiar with is the 5909. It has a pronounced low mid that really sounds good. That should get your thicker tone mojo goin.

I think people are just voting for what they have or have heard. The DD2 and Chainsaw are pretty rare pickups and most people (even the PRS faithful) have yet to hear them in a guitar.
