For the first time in a long time, I am PRS - less. I have a Fender McCready strat and a Gibson Slash LP. I sold my DGT (blasphemy, I know) and am trying to figure out a good model to cover all the remaining bases with a trem. I'm looking at a custom 24 with 58/15s, a Ce with 57/08s, or a Custom 2408. Possibly a Tremonti, but I feel like there is a lot of overlap with the Slash. I have had quite a few customs in the past , but never with the 58s in them. I like the idea of the ce mainly because of the 5708s, which are my favorite PRS pickups. I have heard very few demos of the new 2408s, so I'm not sure what to think there. I play pretty much every type of rock, pop, and americana. Any suggestions or useful tips are greatly appreciated.

Well, since you're asking for suggestions:

NF53
It may look like a Tele, but there's a lot more going on; it's more of its own thing than it is a Tele. Check this out:

I'm Sherlock 513, an unique PRS, which may reduce the pain of the parted ways with the DGT with a comparable neck and fret feel, is... ta da... a 513.

'All the remaining bases'? That guitar doesn't exist. You can't even come close. The possibilities have to be narrowed down.

Hollow body? Semi-hollow? P-90s? Bigsby? Korina? 24 fret? All-mahogany/SG/Firebird? Tele (you can find builders who'll do one with a trem)? Et cetera...

Good point. I guess I'm looking for a solid body, trem equipped, dual humbucker (coil splits?). Most likely the tried and true custom 24 or ce. I'm not going to lie - the ce being half the price of the custom makes me think of what I could upgrade amp and effect wise with the leftover cash.

I'd go 24 frets as well, since you already had CU24s, you know the drill. The santana is a good suggestion, but you could check out a used Ce24 from the old days (core carve and feel) and put some 57/08s in there. Leans a little more to the fender side, but for the more deep, set neck tones you already have an LP. A santana is cool, but overlaps a little with the LP perhaps?

So many great suggestions! Several that weren't even on my radar. Time to make a road trip to try them out!

Your Saying "Road Trip" Sparked A Thought I Have Been Having. I Would Love To Do A Show Like Diners, Drive-In's And Dives But For Guitars And Amps...LOL. Not Many People Would Likely Watch It But It Sure Would Be Fun And Those Who Would Watch It Would Likely Love It.
