Howdy,

Getting gassed up for PRS #3, to complement my 06 CE24 and 08 Mira Mapletop.

Current candidates (based on local sales I can see and play):
- '08 CU24 10-top, near mint, $2000 CAD/1500 USD
- '13 CU22 quilt black gold, stoptail, mint, $2000 CAD/1500 USD (love the color)
- '08 513, near mint, $2000 CAD/1500 USD
- '09 Mira (25th anniversary), exc cond, $1000 CAD/800 US

I first zeroed in on the CU22 to complement my 24 fret CE, I like the bassier tone, would prefer a trem bridge, but the 513 seems pretty cool too. I know many will say "play them all and grab the one that speaks to you" but I'll be perfectly frank and say I'm not looking for any particular tone, just something a bit different to round out my other 2.

Whatcha think?

Cheers

I'd get the CU22 for a few reasons: First, I like black gold. LOL!

But also as a '13 it'll have V12 finish, the Phase III tuners which I like, and 57/08 pickups that should be a great complement to what you have.

I'll second that emotion as I am lost when it comes to Black Gold, and I wouldn't mind those 57/08's myself!

You've got a Mira, You've got 24 frets. That leaves the Cu22 and the 513. It's down to 2. I don't know a lot about a 513 except that they are super versatile. I'd choose the Cu22.

CU22 easily the best option.

-Newer 2013, probably better condition (especially the frets)
-Quilt, always unique
-22 fret scale a little more comfortable than CU24 (for my body it feels better)
- and........oooooohhhh... .....Black Gold!!! .........oooooweeee....... sweet!!!

We'll be looking forward to your NGD thread, good luck!!!

If the 513 was as recent as the CU22, I would have said 513. As this is not, I say CU22.

This is my thought as well. I feel like I need to try a 513 out though, all these years and I've never played one.
