I need help from someone knowledgable with PRS.
Im debating between a custom 22 with 57/08 or a DGT.I just traded in a LP standard and a PRS CE22, wasnt really playing them so I figured I would replace them with something I like. The only guitar I currently have with humbuckers is a 68 ES 345, lovely instruments and I'd like to get something a bit different...
Now the selection of PRS around where I live is super weak.I managed to try a P22 with 57/08 and a custom 24 with the neck pattern I like.So ,I'd be ok with the feel and sound of a Cu with the 57/08.
Having said that I prefer the electronics of the DGT over the Custom. The 3 ways switch with push pull and true single coil is more appealing to me than the 5 ways switch on the Custom 22.
Im worried the pickups in the DGT might be to close in sound to my Gibson 345 and also worried about the different neck shape.Unfortunately , I dont think I'll be able to demo one and it makes harder for me to lean towards the DGT.
Im hoping to find something a bit more aggro/modern than my 345, kinda like old school Jimmy page meets Joe Bonamassa.Im aware they both play LP but I never really was a fan of that guitar.I 'd loved something warm bluesy when clean and awesome vintage-e rock sound when overdriven
Would the 57/08 pickups be great for vintage rock/blues or am I missing something, better options perhaps ?
