Need A Longer Footswitch!

If it's a MIDI connection, I don't see why not!

Just to be safe, contact PRS Customer Service, would suck if you blew a relay (or worse) by using the incorrect cable.

Yeah, that's why I was asking - not sure if it's just regular midi connection or not...it looks like one to me, but I'm not much of a midi type of guy! I'll contact PRS customer service if nobody knows for sure...I just was hoping for an answer today, whenever I've emailed PRS it usually takes several days to hear back.

Hell, I don't know...I'm at work and the amp's at home! :dontknow:

EDIT: I found an online picture at Sweetwater...the footswitch jack looks like it has 5 pins in a smile shape on the bottom and one pin directly over it at the top! I haven't been around a MIDI cable in awhile, but seems that's what I remember it looking like, but like I said...I'm not a MIDI guy!

I've gotten better owner's manuals with things I've bought from China on eBay for 99-cents!!

I emailed PRS service so I'll probably hear something back in a couple of weeks :D

Hopefully somebody on here knows...Les?!?

I've had great success with PRS support when I pick up the phone and call them. You know, the old fashioned way....

I didn't mean to suggest that PRS doesn't have good customer service, because in my past experience they've been very helpful...I just have waited awhile to get a reply via email...wasn't sure if I could contact them via the phone - I couldn't find a phone number?!?

Looked under the Contact Us info and didn't see one...maybe (probably) I'm an idiot?

EDIT: I found a number under the PTC and left a message there...wasn't sure if that was the proper place to call but I figured if it wasn't maybe they'd direct me to the right place!

While you're talking to them ask if it is possible to blow the foot-switch and or amp up by using the wrong cable. If it is midi then it shouldn't be possible as there is little or no current, it should be signal only. If it can be blown up suggest they redesign it so it can't be, it's not that difficult.

FYI - Two PRS reps (Matt via email and Sean returning my call) have both confirmed that I can use a MIDI extension cable for the Custom amps foot switches.

I'll never doubt PRS service again! LOL

My experience with Matt King at the PTC has been superb.
+100 on Matt, the PTC and PRS customer service in general. You won't find a company anywhere that takes better care of their customers.

I'll agree 100% with that! I went on the factory tour on Tuesday, and everyone was super accommodating. Particularly Mike, the head of acoustic guitars; if there was a bar there, I would have bought him a beer to listen to him talk about acoustics for longer!

I have gained a ton of respect for the quality of their instruments after gigging my Customer 24 for the last 16 months; after my dealings with Matt, the PTC, and all of the other people during the 30th Anny Event and the factory tour, I have developed a huge amount of respect for the company as well. In fact, I spied some stuff that would make for a juicy thread on this here BBS, but I'm not going to mention an ounce about what it was out of respect for the company.
