Need a bit of assistance

I have just noticed that if you look at my bridge from the back, it's floating off the body as required but the bass side is a fraction lower than the treble side .

Not sure why I haven't noticed this before, but I'm not sure the best way to go about fixing it. Logic tells me that one or more of the screws fixing the bridge to the body could be either too loose or too tight.

Any advice on how to fix it? I don't wanna mess with those screws if it's not the problem, I've heard they could ruin the knife edge if fiddled with.

I don't have a tremolo bridge, so forgive me if I'm speaking out of turn…is this a new development with the bridge? is the guitar playing fine? staying in tune? Is it possible this is how the bridge sits after it was set up and intonated?

It plays fine, beautifully in fact, trem works perfectly. I've had the guitar a few months and didn't notice it until now.

I was thinking that the bridge should sit straight. I'm concerned that I could be damaging something if I don't get it straight. We are talking around 1/64" difference between height at the treble end of the bridge.

i just check all my PRSi with a tremolo bridge and everyone of them is slightly lower on the treble side than the bass side. except one which is like yours. All play awesome, so I am not sure if it is a problem.

I bet adjusting one or the other spring in the tremolo cavity could sort it if it bothers you.

I would slacken off the claw screw closest to the bass strings by 1/8th of a turn, retune, and see if that straightens the bridge out. Repeat until it's level.

Then check that the low E can be pulled up to *exactly* F# with the trem. If it's too flat, slacken both claw screws an even amount. The opposite if it's too sharp.

Job done!

I did look at that initially but I have a tremol no fitted. The tremol no has to be dead straight in order to work so I can't angle the claw or it throws the alignment out.

I have a tremol-no on my only PRS trem guitar and everything is dead straight, no issues. If the bridge isn't parallel with the body then something is out of alignment somewhere, a tweak should get everything lined up OK.

I'll check it again. I'll try to back off the claw screw on the bass side a bit more. I'll see if there's any more play there before it messes with the tremol no alignment.

I want to install a Tremol-no on my PRS SE Custom 24. Do you know if this is a "drop in" or if drilling is required?

Thanks for the reply. Can you confirm that there's no difference between the PRS SE claw screw spacing and the American made PRS? I'm seeing conflicting info on the web.
