I just bought a 30th anniversary cu 24. It has a pattern regular neck. I want to see if I can get a wide thin but prs said they will not change necks due to company policy. Is there any way to get a replacement neck put on.

I've seen it done once , I'll let him chime in
PRS will re-carve a neck and if I was a thin neck guy I would look into a re-carve. but in your case the Pattern regular is already 1/32" more narrow that a Pattern thin.

You're probably better off selling the pattern regular and looking for a guitar with a pattern thin neck.

Yep, what you are looking for is a "Pattern Thin" as opposed to a "Pattern Regular" or a "Pattern" neck carve.

I have had a CE neck re-carved, so you can get a quote from the PTC.

It’s gonna be expensive.... and they’re gonna have to refinish the neck too.... and it’s gonna be expensive...

But it will be awesome.

The wide thin isn’t as deep but is wider at the nut correct?
That's right.
Nut widths:
Pattern Thin, Wide Thin - 1 11/16"
Pattern Regular, Regular - 1 21/32"

Neck carve depths:
Pattern Thin, Wide Thin - 26/32"
Pattern Regular, Regular - 27/32"

I'll agree with everyone else, a different guitar is what you're after if the neck carve is that important to you. PRS necks are designed to be mated to the guitar they're a part of for life. *edit, glued in models, that is

PM sent.

EDIT: PM edited. Didn't notice it was for a Custom until I re-read.

Thanks for all the advice, my first prs absolutely amazing guitars. I play it for a while. Besides the width it’s perfect.

I had a CE PS once that had 2 necks. The original owner wanted a ‘58 baseball bat carve so PRS made a 2nd neck for it (years ago). It’s obviously easier with a bolt-on though.
