I didn't wind up scoring a new fiddle at the experience, while I came dangerously close on a NF3. Truth be told, I've been gassing for a DGT. SO... Sunday morning came, and my wife and I drove to the Glen Bernie GC before we headed home to NJ, and a used DGT Standard became mine!! I worked a deal with the sales guy, and well, it was too good to pass up!! Please excuse the photos and the prints - this guitar is smudged up, so it needs a clean-up and set-up - very shortly. And I don't know how anyone plays with 11's - those things were meant to hold up bridges!

What's more, in looking at the DGT Standard on the PRS site, I could swear that my DGT was the one used for the website photos! Pretty cool if so, and I think so! I'd love to know the story of how it got there.

Anyway, I'm just getting to know this guitar - feels great, albeit the string gauge is too heavy for me, so I'll have work on her a bit. Thanks for looking.

Put a fresh set of .011s on it, set it up and give yourself a bit of time to get used to it. Enjoy.

Thanks all. If this were my only guitar, I might consider staying with the heavier gauge. However, as I normally play 9's,and gig frequently, I've got to have consistency between them. Thanks again.

Fantastic guitar you have there! You should still look into that NF3 you mentioned ... I absolutely love mine!

Thanks! I was very close... That's now on my radar. I'm glad to have gotten the DGT, but the NF3 was definitely a Strat killer and then some.

You should try pure nickel .11's, I find them to feel a little more "slack" but you retain the fatness and "ring"... Not sure if that makes a lick of sense, YMMV.

Nice score. The guys at that GC are pretty good to work with, made several purchases/deals there over the years. I've got a DGT Standard inbound myself, in fact it's "out for delivery" as we speak. Can't wait!
