That's new column PA day. Been reading about these heavily for the last couple weeks since I decided to go solo acoustic. Man, there are a LOT of these currently on the market!!. Looks like the EV is probably the best, but was out of my price range. Looked at a lot of used, a lot of new, did a lot of digging...and ended up ordering one about which I could find very little information - because it's only been on the market since March. Peavey LN 1063. It's beautifully light weight, sturdy, and from what testing I've done it sounds fantastic. I've always had good luck with Peavey gear, so hopefully that continues .

Congratulations, looks really nice. We bought a Yamaha set up last year, amp sits in the back of one of the speakers, so you still need stands, but easily portable.

Man you have a lot of chores!!

I like how you have a dog pedal board as well.

We were out of town over the weekend, so those were checklists for the offspring to ensure everything got done while we were gone :).

De do indeed have a dog pedal board, but so far the dogs are resistant to the idea - we're going to keep with it until they get it!!!

For those unfamiliar with dog buttons:

Don't know anything about those, but it sure looks sweet! When I think of PA columns I remember those Vox columns from the 60's. When I was in my teens in the mid 60's I saw a band that had 2 of those on each side of the stage. To my young eyes that was the most massive PA I ever saw at the time!

I was wrong about the height - wan't near it when I answered earlier. All together, it's more like 7 feet tall. Of course, you can actually use it in shorter mode - the column is 2 pieces, one of which is just a spacer. You can use it without the spacer and knock it down a couple feet.

Nice!
I know your mic cord is a bit short, but putting the unit a bit farther behind you will assist in negating any feedback issues.
You've got the right idea here for placement!
Yeah. That was just the first cord I grabbed - figured if I could get away with being that close and avoiding feedback I’d be in better shape with better placement.

As everyone says, sounds great, and the fidelity is excellent. I think it's a good choice.

When Bose first came out with these, I saw a demo of an entire rock band using them instead of overly loud, large PAs. The sound was SO much better than you hear at typical bar gigs. You could hear everything, no ringing ears, and it sounded full. I was completely impressed.

They're a brilliant idea, and the columns have only gotten better and better over the years.
