New Case Day

I have long been a rather vocal proponent of gig bags, stating my preference for them many a time. However, I have always somewhat liked molded cases. I really dislike the old school wooden hard cases.

So, of course, being a 1997 model, Esmeralda came with the old school case. And, I do like the thought of her having a higher level of protection than a gig bag.

Enter the new PRS molded case. Much lighter weight than the old case, very nice, very protective. And, 20% off with the PRS20 coupon code. Mine arrived today, and it is indeed a really nice, solid, unheavy case. It is a little thicker than I expected, but it's nicely balanced with a guitar in it and far more pleasant to carry than the wood case.

A bit too hot, and a bit too dark - I've played with the height a bunch, and I get close, but they're just not quite doing it for me.

Looks like a great case!

Back in September I bought a very protective, high quality gig bag for a bit more money, but had the PRS molded case been on the market at the time, I'd have gotten it.

It's hard to beat that level of protection combined with very light weight (compared to the wooden cases). In fact, my gig bag only weighs a couple of pounds less.

Great choice.
