i wandered into my local dealer, Parkway Music, just because i had the day off. dagnabbit if i didn't walk out with a 408 Standard.

*HUGELY* warm low-mids, and powerful lows. The neck pickup is astounding clean, and the bridge is tremendous dirty. What a great all-around guitar.

But, BUT, get this: it only weighs 7 pounds 7 ounces! Seriously. I barely notice it on my shoulder.

It is really weird how that can happen . Congrats on the standard. I suspect 408's are the perfect match for a standard.

That's pretty much what I would like to buy, those exact specs w/ Pattern neck. I might like it in charcoal only because I have a Mira that color, but that would be my 2nd choice.
