There was a forum on VR about naturally faded PRSi which produced some nice pics of faded specimen. I haven't found any similar threads here, except for the infamous Eriza Verde conspiracy. Personally, I love the look of a faded top. Below is a 97 CE that I acquired about a year ago, it is originally Royal Blue and has faded beautifully. You can see the original color near the toggle switch hole and under the pickup rings. I know the person that I acquired it from had purchased it from a BAMer. If any of you guys recognize it, I would love to know it's history.

So this thread is dual-purpose: show off your naturally faded PRSi, and if you can, share a little about the history of the instrument. How was it stored? Left in sunlight intentionally? Gigged regularly or not? Placed in a tanning booth?(joke)

Thats awesome because usually Whale Blue is the color that fades beautifully - you don't hear much about the fading of Royal Blue!

I have one '86 Royal blue/birds. It's not as faded as some do have out there, but she has lightened up enough to really shine in my book

2012 blue fade that has turned into a faded glacier to faded indigo. Just from sitting in the shop...

That's one of the coolest faded fades I've ever seen!

I'm glad this thread got revived, hopefully get some more action. I love a good fade.
Wish I would kept this one...signed/#95 of the 57/08 McCarty series in super faded blueberry.

I dont think World Music stains the veneer the same way as PRS. You could always just leave it out in the sun for a few months!

World Music? As in the factory in Korea that made my PRS? I thought they all had the same dying process. No idea, nice to know thanks!

From some of the refin jobs I've seen the layers of finish are different.
