NAD desert island amp

Love this! I felt the same when I got my HXDA, there's just something special about getting that perfect amp.
Fired up the old BC today, just to check if my impressions were correct, and I stick to my assesment. The old one was cool. The new one is the one to rule them all. Quite an authoritive sound, while still agile, fluent en lightbodied. Like a good burgundy pinot noir wine from one of the grand crus on the côte d'ore.

Gosh, that is really a shame. We lost a talented person who helped to shape the guitar tones of the past 30+ years.

He designed a new version of the hand-wired 30 Watt amp before passing away, the Era 30. So I watched a Pete Thorn demo of it. Sounded wonderful, it was that sound. I don't currently have an AC30 style amp. I may get one. It will be my toast to the memory of Sampson. I especially like the ability to blend the 12AX7 and EF86 channels, like on the HXDA where you can blend the bass and treble channels.

Granted, it's not that I need an AC30 style amp.

But as @11top always says, it ain't about need!

Well, if you finally get the c30, you might as well get the final incarnation of it ;-).
