I picked up a new amp Friday the 24th of October, the new Mesa Boogie Mark Five 25.
It has several of Mesa's past amps features in it.
Two channel with six voicings.
All I can say is WOW!
I may be one of the first in WA. state to have gotten one of these too.
My PRS dealer is also a big Mesa dealer, and they shipped him two on Friday with four or so coming this week too.
Here are some good videos of the amp by Ola Englund.
Mesa has several videos on their channel with this one being the longest and giving a good overview of it.
This next one features a Bay area group both using the same amp.
For now I am running it through a Carvin 2x12 with their branded speakers, and also my Avatar 2x12 cab loaded with Celestion Vintage 30s.
I may get the 2 1x12 Mesa cabs later for a mini dual stack.
So far this is the best amp I have right now, incredible sounding from cleans, classic rock, to extreme metal.
UPDATE ONE
I picked up the 1x12 mini-rec slant cab on Halloween which is loaded with a Celestion Vintage 30.
More than likely I will be picking up its cousin the regular cab to put on top of the slant cab.
What I really also like about Mesa/Boogie is they give you slip covers for both the heads and the cabs.
A lotta amps companies do not do this.
I retired the Carvin V3M and Carvin 2x12 that were parked where the Mesa setup is to the spare room where I have a bunch of other cabs and heads I am not using.
Without a doubt, this is the best amp yet I have owned.
The bottom of that nice end table is ruined as you can see in the pics.
I had two Siamese cats years back, and one of them barfed on it.
Ate right through the wood like acid.
Same thing with a section of my coffee table where one of them initiated it.
UPDATE TWO
I picked up the bottom cab for my Mesa setup a short time after I got the first one.
I have a YouTube video of me using my 408, and also a Sound Cloud clip with the 408 and new amp, my Kingfisher bass, and drum tracks from the Zoom R24 I will re-add here when I get the URLs for them.
