Well, it's been quite a week for my guitar harem (and weakness to GAS). After receiving an impulse-buy Reclaimed Vela - which is a beautiful, super-resonant instrument - the crown jewel arrived on Friday - a new Wood Library SC 594 from the fine folks at Wildwood.

I put it through its paces over the weekend, and while it's still early, it does seem like Paul has indeed built a better mousetrap. Huge, thick creamy tones give way to sparkling articulate cleans with split coils, and turns of volume/tone knobs. The neck and fretboard feel great, very similar to my "historic" guitar - but with that extra PRS refinement, smooth feel and tuning stability. And all that grunt and power at only 8.5 lbs, which my back appreciates.

Anyways, enough already right? You guys already know these things ;) Here are the obligatory glamour shots:

NICE! Completely agree with your assessment. Such a sublime instrument. Dig that top too! Lots going on in both directions!

Sweet! Yes, those of us who own a 594 already know (I am selling my Artist Package Doublecut for an incoming PS SC 594) , but we never tire from watching a new player discover that we weren't kidding! :D

Seriously, it's wild how little tweaks from previous models seem to have yielded fixed-bridge, humbucker nirvana.

Quite an N5D!!

Man, that guitar is killer, one of the very nicest looking SC 594's I have seen to-date. That top is killer, and I love the finish. I am sure it sounds AMAZING!

Congrats!!
