So, last month I was able to trade some guitars towards one Private Stock I never thought I would own, and here it is one of 85 Paul's 85.
I've been playing guitar for 25 years and I remember the first PRS I had (a '08 Custom 24). In all these years I've been fortunate enough to own 20 PRSi and this is, without any doubt, the most resonant and special one. I guess that knowing the value of this guitar affects my perception of it, but I've never played other guitar like this.
The wide curl maple top with the electric tiger glow is something that no picture can make justice to. It's really beautiful.
I'm convinced that the Peruvian mahogany neck has something to do with its sound and resonance. I had a SC245 57/08 limited with the same type of wood and is a guitar that had also something special.
It's of course a used guitar, and the nitro has already started to crack, giving it a beautiful "old" look. I've bought it with no intention of having it hanging in my studio, and I want to play it as any other guitar in my collection, so I don't care about the cracks or eventual dings in it. It's hard to get it in the pics, but here you can see a sample of the cracking in the back and the front of the guitar
I'm still in the honeymoon phase and will update with my thoughts after playing it properly but I already can see this guitar been with me for my whole life.
