Welcome Cooper!
Thanks Andy! Too cool about your friend's dogWhat a buddy!!! Love it.
Friend of mine had dog named Cooper, who had a very similar color scheme coat in short hair version - he was a great dog, they even lived in IL, believe or not.
Too funny...Mc Dog Burst! They really do make the best. Thanks!Cool tail, McCarty Dog Burst! I get all my pets “used” they tend to love ya and know the good life is coming for them. Great score.

Thank you.AWESOME!!!! congrats!
I'll take all of the good karma I can get. Thanks!Good on you and your wife for rescuing dogs in need and giving them a loving home after their initial crap lives. Good karma for you.
Thanks! Yeah, work schedules can get in the way. Our first was stuck at home a lot do to our work lives.Happy NPD. I would love to have one myself, but both me and the Mrs we working shift patterns, it would be so unfair for the doggo.
Funny about your sister-in-law. Our vet agreed that he was probably in the 4 to 5 range. Then she told me that the company that does the Doggy DNA tests also has one to determine age. Apparently, it has an almost 95% accuracy rate all for the low, low price of $150. I think I'll just stick with 4.Congrats Bodia, he looks like a cool hound. I'm chuckling at the "4 years old." We are on rescue golden retriever #3. Each of them was "about 4 years old" when we got them. Each was then proclaimed to be "6 or 8" not six months later after a Vet visit. What's funny, is my lovely wife's twin is the Vet at the shelter, and the Vet that proclaimed them "6 or 8." So basically she called them 4, then 6 or 8, all within 6 months. For all 3 of them. Her answer to "Why?"
"It's hard to tell age with shelter dogs." Anyway, as usual, I digress. Awesome new family member!
Thanks!Nice fuzzy buddy there! Glad you did it, it'll help.
Well, mostly Cooper. Although, in the 30 seconds it took me to flip burgers on the grill last night he managed to get, and devour, two top halves of pretzel buns and two pieces of cheese off the plate on the kitchen counter.Who’s a good boy?
Thank you. It's always tough. She's on top of the entertainment center with the three that came before her.Nice, still sorry to hear about Tyler but welcome to the Bodia household to Cooper!
Thanks! He really is.Congrats, beautiful dog!
Thanks RM!So pleased for you and Mrs B.
Thank you!Sorry for your loss, but also what an amazing good boy! Happy new Puppy Day!
Thanks! We hope to for many years!Congrats on your new best friend.
Enjoy the new pup.
He was actually listed as a Husky/Shepherd mix, but I went with Hound after not really seeing any Shepherd attributes, other than Black and Tan. Google photos also had Beagle/Husky mix that looked close. What a great mix. I would have guessed Husky/Shepherd. Gorgeous!
So nice being trained & sweet too!
Very sorry for your loss, but congrats on the new addition to the family.New Pooch Day!
Sadly, we had to say good-bye to our 15 year girl, Tyler (if you ask me, Steven and if you ask my wife, Bonnie) May 29th. She was in late stage heart failure. We got her when she was three after she was transferred to a rescue shelter in our area after the Joplin, MO. tornado in 2011. She had a rough life before coming here. Battle wounds, chipped, broken teeth, and heart worms. The shelter offered to take her back after we found out she had heart worms, but we just couldn't do that. Got her treatments to get past that, and then gave her 12 good years of the easy life.
The Mrs and I are gluttons for punishment (we just love pooches and there are too many that need a home) so we knew we wouldn't wait long to get another one. We spent a week looking at local rescues for prospective adoptions. We ended up at Naperville Humane Society on Sunday, June9th. We had chosen two to look at; the oldest dog they had, and the one that had been there the longest. Our only criteria was male, and at least three years old. The one that had been there the longest didn't pass muster because it was obvious why he had been there so long (almost a year). The oldest, a 4 year old 55 pound Husky/Hound mix was brought in to the room, and as soon as he came through the door Ruth and I looked at each other knowing that this was the one just by first glance. He is our fifth dog since 1991, usually having two at a time. Our first was Ace, and he had a 1/2 brown 1/2 blue eye. Next was Nikki who was a Husky Border Collie mix with a thick double coat and a tail that she curled up and held high like a Husky. Then came Ginger. He was a Collie Retriever or Setter mix with a brown and white face. Then came Tyler, a hound mix with a German Shepherd colored brown and black coat.
It was immediately noticeable that this 4 year old Husky/Hound mix was a mash up of our first four dogs. One blue eye like Ace. Thick double coat and tail of Nikki. Same head structure and facial coloring of Ginger. And, German Shepherd like coloring from the shoulders back, like Tyler. He was brought to the NHS in early April from a shelter in Quincy, IL. which is about 300 miles southwest of here. I have no idea how he ended up in a shelter. He is the sweetest guy. Knows several commands, is house broken, sleeps through the night, doesn't like "people food." He's warming up to the people food though. He's kinda goofy, and is settling in nicely after 2 1/2 weeks.
After all of this rambling, I present to you.........Cooper (as in Alice)
Thanks! Appreciate the condolences.Very sorry for your loss, but congrats on the new addition to the family.
You are a good lad for adopting from shelters.
Thanks buddy. Loss is tough, but Cooper is helping us move on.I’m so sorry for the loss of Tyler, but thrilled that you gave Tyler a great life.
Happy Gotcha Day to Cooper! Thanks for rescuing!
Thanks!Congratulations on your new family Cooper.
You chose.... wisely.
Lol. That's on you for introducing him to Hooman food!Well, mostly Cooper. Although, in the 30 seconds it took me to flip burgers on the grill last night he managed to get, and devour, two top halves of pretzel buns and two pieces of cheese off the plate on the kitchen counter.
Thanks! My wife blamed me for getting him to eat people stuff, too!Congrats on the new pup, and of course, sorry for the loss of Tyler - but we all know that use hoomans outlive the good pups and kitties we bring into our lives, and that's just part of the deal. As long as we do our best to make them happy it helps the pain of the eventual loss.
Lol. That's on you for introducing him to Hooman food!
Papa is fine by me. He’s well on to people grub now. With those eyes, he'll be known to me as Papa Emeritus V.
Doesn't like people food eh? I'm calling out the cook!
Thank youSorry for your loss. But I'm really glad you adopted like that. I wish more people would do as you do.
