Congrats! As @Aahzz says, they are magical guitars. I have two and I’m constantly fighting the urge to get a third. It’s genuinely hard for me to pick up any of my other guitars these days, and I have a few other GREAT guitars that I LOVE… but there’s just something about the Velas that makes them a pure joy to play. Especially the satin ones. They’re great stock, but they’re equally great with whatever your pickups of choice are. Enjoy!

I'm not often a fan of satin guitars, but this is very cool. You get the "double contrast" factor of the black + tortoise (so classy!) and you get the satin body + gloss pickguard contrast, as well. And the fact that it's a S-H is icing on the delicious layer-cake. Congrats!

I have 2 satin S2s including a Vela...they get worn in quicker but IMO they sound better...more alive and punchy!

Yes! It came that way from previous owner, but he shipped it with the original black pickgaurd in the gig bag pocket. I thought for a second that I might replace it, but the tort-on-satin-black looks even cooler in person. I'm sticking with it!

I'm such a fan of a tortoise pick guard and I've admired the satin semi-hollow Vela for some time. I think that pick guard would work on any of the colors and it's magical on yours. Congrats!

I got a standard satin very cheaply in a closing down sale, loved it. Sold it for 25% more than I paid for it.
