So, we are three for three w.r.t. bridge upgrades.

Had $400 in GC Bucks from getting that used WL CU24 30th (Korina) a month or so back. Used that to basically steal a hardly touched used 2015 S2 Standard 24 Satin.

I really like the Satin 24s. I had one last year, had to return her because of another PRS deal. But of the various S2s I have laid hands on, the Satin 24 was my favorite (even over the Vela), and I was hoping to snag one used someday.

This is a really good one - she had uncanny sustain even with the SE bridge. Threw on an NOS2000 this afternoon (thanks John & Roxanne once again) and, no surprise, what a worthwhile upgrade. First was my CE24, then my SE Santana, and now this. In each case, improvements in sustain, note clarity, and a real POP to the splits.

I am getting really good at swapping bridges. John's video is really helpful, too. Too bad I don't solder. That's the next adventure...

Anyhoo, I might be in the minority, but I really like the S2 HFS/VB. They really don't sound much like the core versions, but what they do bring to the table is a really noticeable lack of flab under high gain, like their predecessors. But I find the S2 ones to be really satisfying, especially in the Satin 24. They ain't 85/15s, but they're worlds ahead of the SE versions. And they split REALLY well.

Looks-wise, I really dig the GC-exclusive color, and the zebra bobbins. And the satin feels great.

Very nice, thanks for the continued reports, I do have this on the radar, but it makes me more confident.

I have installed two so far. First was on my cu24. I noticed a huge difference unplugged and same plugged in. Notes were more pronounced and a little more sustain.

Got antsy and put one on ce24. Didn't notice any difference on that one.

Got to wondering if it was more due to new plated saddles than anything. The saddles on the cu were much worse condition than on the ce.

Anyway. It's a thing of beauty when you first open the box.
