I've had some time on these pickups and I have them set the way I want for now.

I loved the neck and center position right off the bat, split or not. The tones are rich and full and even more so with volume rolled back between 5-7. Very good usable tones. I wasn't sure about the bridge but I did a set up on My McCarty after installing these pickups and other goodies and gigged with it for 2 sets.

Somebody on here kind of compared them to 5909s which I wasn't hearing but this week I have played with the height and found them to be too close to the strings. Now I hear the 5909 similarities which I really like.

I find that notes seem to blossom from this guitar and adjusting pick attack also is good for a fair amount of tone range. This guitar has been a pickup whore for quite a while as I really struggled to find pickups that worked well but that is over. This guitar has me excited to play and it has me wanting to spend more time on neck and middle positions.

All of this is very bad............Got me thinking about a 594 and all that crazy stuff.

I like em but find i like em best with tone turned back a bit. Maybe a 1/4 to 1/2 a turn adjusted to mood. The more i play them the more I love them. At first was kind of eh but would not change them now. Even if I could buy a mannmade bridge and some duncans with how much they sell for on evilbay. Lol

Same here. The more I play them the more I love them. Pickup height was pretty crucial too. Wasn't as impressed with the bridge at first but we are golden now.

It's crazy how when things are "right" it is total bliss. I've always liked this guitar but now I have an incredible desire to play it.

I ordered a set of the vintage locking tuners from J Mann on saturday. This will complete the mods for this particular guitar. Now I can just play it until my a$$ falls off.
