Vancouver Island is great place. Only time in my life I saw pods of Orcas in the Wild. So much better than Sea World!

One of my best buds and a fraternity brother (from a life years ago), has a house on Camano. I visited 2 years ago, and plan on another trip. What a great place.

We were going to rent a house there this summer for vacation, then my medical leave and the roof repair/replacement came up -doh! Maybe next year!

Indeed! Abundant wildlife up here in the PNW. We get coyotes, bobcats, cougars and bears around our neighborhood, but we’re close to the foothills of the Cascades.

Your mind? Only once. Lots of thoughts of guitars, but lots of images of a guy in bunny slippers, too.

I think that last month of waiting is more difficult than all the prior months combined! Look forward to seeing your NGD thread!

Couple of pics with my P&S camera w/ indoor flash. Little bit better job capturing some of the glow effect.

Quilt is funny. In some pictures it looks perfectly matched and the lens moves just s bit it becomes a mess then the next picture is of an entirely other grain set. So 3d.

This is the most 3D quilt one I’ve had in my collection. The Bahama Mama one had amazing figure, but it was almost ‘flat’ compared to this top. I need to keep working on getting some better photos - someday :)

Ok, empirical research update (for those other voices in my head)...

I compared this to my ME I SCT model. Both are SCTs with full Braz neck and board with 59/09s. My PS has the deeper P245 body, African Mahogany back, while the ME is the classic SCT shape, little thinner body (versus P245), with South American Mahogany back. Neck carve is pattern vintage on my build, The old Wide Fat on the ME I. Other difference is scale length, 24.5” for my build versus 25” for the ME. Weight is 7.75lbs for my PS, 8.2lbs ME I.

They both have that nice push in the lower mids, great sustain and clarity. My new one has a little more ‘woody’ or ‘rounded’ tone due to the scale length and more depth of the body. The ME has a little more treble and a little less bass, likely due to the scale length differences. So, my obsession about African versus SA Mahogany proved mostly unfounded  What can I say? I’m not a professional, nor did I stay in a Holiday Inn Express. :)

Funny how the wide fat neck carve feels so much thinner to me right now. Both are excellent and to paraphrase Ferris Bueller, “They’re so choice, if you have the means, I highly recommend picking them both up.” :D

Next research project - continuing to dial in my toaster (Kemper) for this one!

Thanks for that comparison and feedback. Yeah I love my ME1's also. The quintessential example of PRS. Question on something you said re the neck comparison. I believe your new one is pattern and I don't have any w that neck. How does it feel different to you if there is a way to explain. Is the new one deeper from board to the back? Reason I ask is I am considering a pattern neck guit but have not tried any so don't know what to expect.

Pattern is very similar to the old Wide Fat. I’ve occasionally come across one that was bigger, but the difference is subtle.

My build is Pattern Vintage, the carve has a slight asymmetric V high is a little deeper than the Pattern or old Wide fat. Feels great to me and is my favorite neck shape. So deeper, but the rounded shoulders just feels very comfortable for me.
