Memories can be a funny thing...

I was outside this morning and the weather was particularly nice. All of a sudden a trip I had taken flooded my mind. The weather and cool breeze reminded me of MD at which point I looked at my phone to see what day of the month it was. I noticed it was probably within a few days of my trip to the factory. And as it turned out...

One year ago yesterday I crossed the Bay Bridge and visited PRS for the first time. From Annapolis to Kent Island what a blast. Those stomping grounds are some of my favorite in all the land. Here's to the next trip that direction.

I've been to Annapolis a million times but never crossed the bridge before. I'm super geeked about September this year, I'm spending more than a week there with friends and family AND get to finally visit the factory for Experience!

I booked flight and hotel early. I'll be there bright and early Wednesday if you want to meet up. There's some places on West Street you must go!

Word! I know there's one place on West St. I gotta see.

"Tell me, Grandfather, what's visiting the PRS Factory like?"

"Well, my child, when you get halfway across the bridge, the skies open up, and you begin to hear the voices of angels singing. When you reach the island, the streets are paved with flamed maple. As you get out of your car, and join the procession of endorsers into the building, you are greeted by guides dressed in saffron robes, and finally, you are ushered into the room where Paul Reed Smith himself sits on a dais, like the Dalai Lama himself. Paul shares some of the secrets of his Quest for Tone, but he never divulges the deepest secrets in The Book."

"That's amazing. Does he wear a strange hat like the Dalai Lama?"

"Not really...

But that's not all, my child. You see, there is Entertainment. Magical, wonderful, entertainment. And afterward, you are ushered into a room where beautiful scented crack-burners are constantly burning and giving off a sweet smell (for specially scented crack is legal on The Island), and you are allowed to buy more PRS stuff, which you can't wait to do because of the scented crack. And by the way, my child, the smell of a new PRS in its case has this scent. It is the most amazing smell on earth, and of course, it makes you want more guitars."

"But crack is bad, isn't it Grandfather?"

"This is pre-embargo Brazilian crack, dear, and it's documented, so it's good. It's the best crack in the world. And it is mixed with guitar polish and glue to create...well, what an aroma! So people want to return there, year after year."

"Can I go, Grandfather?"

"One day, my child, one day. For I have not been there myself."

That bridge freaks me out. Can't wait to go over, but still freaked out.

My sons are getting excited about going! They're nine and six...and already know the lay out of the factory!

Hit me up when you guys go out and I'll buy some beers.

And don't worry too much about the bridge. Some woman's car was just pushed off last week by a truck, but that doesn't happen often so you should be fine. She swam out to safety.

hey Jesse- We never did a pic of you and the PTC crew. Maybe in september?

Someone will need to blindfold Markie and drive him over the bridge. With all the bad news about the bridge recently, I don't know if he can make the drive alone.

Will do. Like I said I'm flying in Wednesday. Yeah that made front page of Yahoo News. Wild stuff.

Sweet, I'll have my camera ready.

He can ride with me. I grew up and still live by the Mississippi. I'm so use to old and narrow bridges it doesn't phase me. The Bay Bridge looks like something from the Jetson's compared to the stuff I cross.

I'd drive Markie over, but I have a feeling sudden random swerving mixed with intermittent screaming might unnerve him.

And Les, you've become the typical old man, telling the younger kids how hard it was "back in our day". Sheesh - you make it sound like we actually have to WALK around the factory instead of floating on thought-propelled clouds.

Jesse,

Are you sure you can wait 2 months to go back?

It's incredibly difficult. While it was just the anniversary of my first trip I've been a total of 4 times.

And after seeing my text MSG's today from a certain someone in the Cleveland area I want to go back even more badly.

I hope everyone's sitting down cause...

WOW!!!
